MindClerk is our own Mac app: hold a key, speak, and clean, well-punctuated text appears at your cursor — in Mail, Slack, Notion, a code editor or the terminal. We designed and engineered it end to end, from the Rust audio pipeline and on-device models to every pixel of the interface.

Thechallenge
Dictation on the Mac has always been a trade-off between accuracy and privacy. Built-in tools stumble over names, punctuation and self-corrections, while cloud services send every email and every meeting to someone else’s server. People who think faster than they type wanted a tool that writes like an editor and never lets their voice leave the machine.
Theresponse
A Tauri app with a Rust core captures audio, detects speech and runs recognition right on the Mac — Whisper and Parakeet on Metal — followed by a local LLM cleanup pass, so fillers, false starts and “Tuesday — actually Thursday” corrections are resolved before the text lands. Built-in agents turn the same voice into a professional email, bullet points or a prompt, per-app modes adapt to the editor, the terminal or a chat, and a Notetaker records calls locally and writes the summary and to-dos with no bot in the room.
